Job Title: Standalone HR Manager
Location: Liverpool City Centre (Hybrid)
Salary: £45-50,000 DOE
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time


Adaptable Recruitment are working with a growing and ambitious business based in the heart of Liverpool City Centre, known for its vibrant culture and collaborative ethos. As the company scales, they are looking for an experienced HR Manager to take full ownership of the HR function, offering a fantastic opportunity to build, influence, and lead the people agenda from the ground up.


As the Standalone HR Manager, you'll be a trusted partner to the leadership team, responsible for developing and delivering a best-in-class HR service that supports business growth and drives a positive employee experience. This is a hands-on, generalist role where you will lead on all areas of HR, from operational processes to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and frameworks to support business goals
  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across all areas including employee relations, performance, absence, and wellbeing
  • Lead on recruitment and onboarding activity, ensuring a seamless candidate and employee experience
  • Drive engagement and culture initiatives, aligned to the company's values and growth plans
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including contracts, compliance, and personnel files
  • Support training and development needs and create frameworks for progression and capability building
  • Advise on pay, reward, and benefits strategies, and work with Finance on payroll coordination
  • Keep up to date with employment law and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing across the business
  • Work closely with leadership on organisational structure, workforce planning, and succession

About You:

  • Proven experience as a standalone HR Manager or in a senior HR generalist role
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (Level 7 desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practice
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Able to build credibility and strong relationships at all levels
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and confident managing change
  • Experience setting up or significantly developing an HR function is highly advantageous
