Office-Based Initially, Moving to Hybrid
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday


Adaptable Recruitment is working exclusively with a successful and growing organisation based on the outskirts of Liverpool to recruit an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk. This role is ideal for someone with strong credit control experience and a keen eye for detail in finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts receivable process, including credit control and collection of overdue payments via phone, email and letter
  • Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers to manage risk effectively
  • Raise and issue invoices with a high level of accuracy to ensure timely payment
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies; raise and process credit notes through the correct approvals
  • Allocate customer receipts, review remittance advice, resolve unapplied cash and payment-related queries
  • Assist in month-end close activities, including AR sub-ledger closure, preparing reports and contributing to cash flow
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, controls, and policies throughout all AR tasks
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients to resolve issues and ensure a smooth AR process


Key Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in credit control or collections, ideally within an accounts receivable or finance function essential
  • Confident managing aged debts and customer accounts
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and within a team
