Adaptable Recruitment are working with a well known charity based in Liverpool who is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Payroll Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the coordination of weekly and monthly payroll submissions across multiple locations
  • Act as the primary liaison between Best Lives and our outsourced payroll provider, RSM
  • Ensure payroll data is accurate, complete and submitted within agreed deadlines
  • Review payroll information and resolve discrepancies or queries promptly
  • Process payroll adjustments, advances and off-cycle payments
  • Manage employee payroll queries with clear, timely responses
  • Complete year-end activities and support statutory submissions to HMRC and pension providers
  • Produce payroll reports and management information as required
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with managers, colleagues in HR Operations, and Payroll Provider
  • Identify and lead improvements to payroll processes, systems and service


About You

  • Significant payroll experience - you know the job and want to put that experience to work
  • CIPP qualified, or working towards Level 5, or open to studying towards it with our support
  • Confident processing accurate data and managing validations independently
  • Strong relationship-building skills, comfortable managing an outsourced provider relationship and working closely with internal colleagues
  • Sound working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  • Strong Excel and payroll systems skills
  • Naturally focused on improving processes, efficiency and service, not just maintaining them
